Give to organizations that support immigrants

This week in La Voz en breve, journalist Mariel Fiori has a show on  politics and health and giving! In English they call it Giving Tuesday and in La Voz we present several organizations working for the immigrant community, and more, that deserve more support. She spoke with Diana Cruz, co-executive director of the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement. In addition to monetary donations, you can support the organization by volunteering to bring immigrants to and from their appointments or with translations into Spanish. Claudia Ramos, from the Institute for Family Health also told us about the open market for health insurance.

For his part, Salvador Altamirano from Family of Woodstock explained why it is important to support Family’s work. The organization helps children, teens, adults, people with addiction problems, survivors of domestic violence, and more. In the last year, some 60,000 people have benefited from Family of W’oodstock’s variety of services. Monetary donations are accepted, and Spanish-speaking volunteers are also sought, who are provided with intensive training on how to respond to trauma and more. Esta semana en La Voz en breve, la periodista Mariel Fiori tien un programa de política y salud y ¡de dar! En inglés le dicen Giving Tuesday y en La Voz les presentamos varias organizaciones trabajando por la comunidad inmigrante, y más, que merecen nuestro apoyo. Mariel conversó con Diana Cruz, co-directora ejecutiva del Movimiento Santuario del Condado de Columbia.
