KayCee Wimbish, Director for the Kingston YMCA Farm Project has a proposal, what if we put all of our Halloween pumpkins in the compost? They can bring their pumpkins to the YMCA garden this Thursday during the farmers market or anytime in the next two weeks.

Maia Martínez from Dojo Dance Company presents a weekend of workshops for tango dancers and shows with Junior Cervila and Guadalupe Garcia this November 6 and 7 at 16 Cedar St.

Fatimah Martinez, the only Latina member of the Poughkeepsie school district, updated us on the district’s needs. The school board meeting, which meets every two weeks on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, will feature Spanish interpretation. Parents are invited to comment on any situation they want to bring to the attention of school board members, from the condition of the buildings to behavior problems or lack of response from the administration on any issue. Haz oír tu voz en la escuela

Esta semana en La Voz en breve, la periodista Mariel Fiori tiene un programa de educación y familia.

KayCee Wimbish, Directora del proyecto agrícola de la  Kingston YMCA tiene una propuesta ¿y si ponemos todas nuestras calabazas de Halloween en el abono? Pueden llevar sus calabazas a la huerta del YMCA este jueves durante el mercado agrícola o en cualquier momento en las próximas dos semanas.

Maia Martínez de Dojo Dance Company nos presenta un fin de semana de talleres para bailarines de tango y espectáculos con Junior Cervila y Guadalupe Garcia este 6 y 7 de noviembre en 16 Cedar St.

Fatimah Martinez, la única miembro latina del distrito escolar de Poughkeepsie, nos actualizó sobre las necesidades del distrito. La reunión de de la junta escolar, que se reúne cada dos semanas los miércoles a las 6:30pm contará con interpretación al español. Se invita a los padres a a hacer comentarios sobre cualquier situación que quieran traer a la atención de los miembros de la junta escolar, desde el estado de los edificios hasta problemas de comportamiento o falta de respuesta de la administración en alguna cuestión.
