Marshall Miles Interviews Lindsay Farrell, President/CEO of Open Door, Webutuck Health Clinic

Ms. Farrell is President and CEO of Open Door Family Medical Centers. She has dedicated her professional life to high-quality community-based care, efficient care delivery and population health management to assure a more equitable healthcare system for us all. Homegrown at Open Door, where she originally served as a volunteer, Ms. Farrell has also served as Open Door’s Director of Operations and Director of Development.

During Ms. Farrell’s tenure as President and CEO, Open Door has grown significantly and doubled the number of people served. Today, Open Door is accredited by the Joint Commission, recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance as a Level 3 patient-centered medical home and has won the prestigious national Davies Award from the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

For more than 48 years, Open Door has been a trusted resource for our local community. Every day, we educate and empower people to take charge of their health, so they can lead active, fulfilling lives.

Since our beginning in the basement of the First Baptist Church in 1972, our aim has remained constant: to provide high-quality health care that’s affordable, accessible, and efficient. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door provides top-notch health care to those who are hardest to reach, regardless of their ability to pay. Often we serve patients who may not otherwise have access to care – including low-income families and individuals without insurance.

Beyond the medical, dental, and behavioral health care provided in our facilities, we promote wellness, good nutrition, stress reduction, and physical activity. Through our focus on prevention, we help to identify illnesses early and decrease the need for more expensive treatment down the road. Our goal is to help entire generations of families stay healthy.

Over the years, Open Door has risen to meet the growing demand for health care in Westchester and Putnam counties. We are proud to provide a medical home to nearly 57,000 local residents every year. Our award-winning Family Medical Centers have opened in a growing number of locations, and we operate numerous School-Based Health Centers to ensure that routine and preventive care is provided when and where children need it.
Good health affects everyone. We believe that when you help one person, you can lift up an entire community. Your community needs Open Door, and Open Door needs you. Learn more about our servicesjoin us, and help us continue to grow.
