Marshall Miles Interviews Richard Roney-Dougal: Sharon Historical New Art Show July 17 – Aug 27 (Opening Reception Sat July 17, 5-7PM on the SHS Terrace )

The Sharon Historical Society & Museum is pleased to announce the opening of the next exhibit in Gallery SHS, works by four women artists, to be held at the Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s Gallery SHS from July 17, 2021 until August 27, 2021.  The public is invited to attend the artists’ opening reception on the SHS terrace on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 5-7PM, when the exhibition will be available to view under social distancing guidelines. Please bring a mask for entry to the building.

Delayed for a year by the Covid-19 pandemic and hard on the heels of Sharon Historical Society and Museum’s historical exhibition on The Road to Women’s Suffrage, Gallery SHS is pleased to host an exhibition of paintings, sculpture, and mixed media, entitled “Four Women Artists” to mark the 100th Anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment in August 1920.

The content of the show it not intended to be political in nature, but rather to highlight the achievements and professionalism of four very different artists, all residents of this area, who have each created impressive portfolios of work.

The featured artists are Virginia Bradley from Great Barrington, Danielle Mailer from Goshen, Patty Mullins from Sharon, and Sally Pettus from Sharon. Biographical information will be available on the SHS website and at their individual websites at virginiabradley.comdaniellemailer.compattymullins.com; and sallypettus.com.

A portion of all purchase proceeds will support the Sharon Historical Society & Museum’s mission.

Gallery SHS is located in the Sharon Historical Society & Museum at 18 Main Street in Sharon, CT.  Museum hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from noon to 4:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and by appointment.  For more information and directions to Gallery SHS, call (860) 364-5688.   For additional information about the Sharon Historical Society & Museum, visit www.sharonhist.org
